The Larry Harris List of the Nation’s Best Art Festivals ranks the Sun Valley Center Arts & Crafts Festival among the top 20 in the Pacific Northwest and California. Sales for the 2009 show, which included 130 artists, were approximately $409,000 based on taxes collected by the City of Ketchum. Admission is free and entertainment and educational programs are scheduled throughout the weekend. The area is a level, grassy field surrounded by high alpine mountains. ArtFest MidWest ‘The Other Art Show’ (Iowa’s largest fine art show) invites you to submit an application. This juried show, in its eighth year, is promoted by Stookey Companies and consists primarily of mid-western artists. This event offers an affordable, alternative to the outdoor downtown Des Moines art show. Other attractive features are free admission, free parking, free shuttle to and from the downtown show, and an expanded “Artist Demonstration Area” in front of the building. The Iowa State Fairgrounds are located approximately 10 minutes east of downtown Des Moines. The Varied Industries Building is a newly renovated air-conditioned building just inside the Fairgrounds main gate. Food will be available. Loading and unloading is easy and convenient, as all access is flat.
The show will be extensively promoted using various media.

The Washington International Arts Festival will be held on May 1 & 2, 2010 on the 300-acre site of National Harbor and sponsored by the Washington Post. National Harbor is an exciting new community considered the gateway to the National Capital Region. National Harbor is located on the eastern bank of the Potomac River in Prince George’s County, MD across the river from Alexandria, VA to which it is connected by a water taxi operated by the Potomac Riverboat Company. Alexandra is also serviced by the Metro Rail system that facilitates visitors coming to National Harbor from the Capital region.
